Max, Lucas, and Thor, known collectively as The Beanbag Boys, begin their adventure as they navigate the trials of sixth grade. Each boy faces unique challenges, with Max infatuated with Brixlee, Lucas dealing with his parents' divorce, and Thor confronting bullying due to his love for singing.

Max develops a crush on his classmate, Brixlee, which becomes a driving force behind his actions and decisions. His attempts to impress her set the stage for various escapades throughout the story.

Thor's passion for singing is mocked by Soren, a popular student who ridicules him for being 'feminine'. This bullying pressures Thor to hide his true interests and leads to conflicts within the group as they each cope differently.

The boys plan to kiss Brixlee at a party thrown by Soren, igniting their adventurous spirit. This plan spirals into chaos when they attempt to spy on their neighbor, Hannah, leading them to crash into unexpected troubles.

In their effort to retrieve a drone owned by Max's father, the boys inadvertently discover Hannah's stash of ecstasy pills. This incident escalates their misadventure, causing them to devise a plan to avoid punishment from their parents.

Determined to replace the broken drone, the boys skip school and rush to the local mall. They are pursued by Hannah and Lily, leading to frantic decisions as they try to gather the funds needed for a new drone.

Facing a lack of funds, Lucas is hesitant to sell his prized baseball card, leading the group to a more outrageous solution. They decide to sell Thor’s dad's sex doll, an act that unexpectedly yields enough money for a new drone.

In a moment of panic at a convenience store, Lucas mistakenly hands over ecstasy to a police officer, thinking they are in trouble. The officer mistakenly identifies the pills as vitamins, allowing them to escape serious consequences.

Upon reaching the mall, the boys find that Hannah and Lily have already bought the drone. The girls reveal that they will only return the drone in exchange for the ecstasy, putting the boys in a tough spot.

In a stroke of luck, the boys manage to obtain more ecstasy from Hannah's ex-boyfriend, Benji. This acquisition allows them to trade the drugs for the drone, putting an end to their frantic search.

Max faces the unfortunate consequences of their adventure when his father discovers the misuse of the drone. As a result, Max is grounded, leading to tension and arguments among the friends.

Realizing they are drifting apart, Lucas convinces Max to attend a party where all three friends reunite. An emotional moment occurs when Max finally kisses Brixlee, marking a new chapter in their friendship.

After witnessing support from Hannah and Lily, Thor decides to embrace his passion for singing. This decision culminates in him securing the role of Stacee Jaxx in their school’s production of Rock of Ages.

As the school year progresses, the boys reaffirm their friendship and commitment to support one another. They reconcile after a dynamic performance of their musical, solidifying their bond and celebrating their growth.
