The film begins with Max immersed in a fantasy online game, where he enlarges the breasts of an orc before preparing for a personal moment. His father enters, informing him about his weekend plans and a new drone, then gives him 'the talk' after catching Max in a compromising situation. Max experiences embarrassment while his father talks to his mother, setting the tone for the day.

Max joins his best friends Thor and Lucas, collectively known as 'The Bean Bag Boys,' at Thor’s house. They deal with petty annoyances like Thor’s younger sister, Annabelle, and play a game involving a valuable baseball card. It highlights their close friendship and typical childhood adventures.

At the skate park, Max tries to impress his crush Brixlee. They encounter Atticus and his friends, who mock Thor and give him the nickname 'Sippy Cup' after he chickens out drinking beer. This marks a clash between the boys and the 'cool' crowd and shows Max’s early interest in Brixlee.

Lucas returns home to his parents, who tell him they are getting a divorce. Despite his friends noticing he's upset, Lucas keeps his feelings to himself. This event highlights a personal struggle that affects the group.

Max, Thor, and Lucas decide to learn how to kiss by researching porn, practicing on a sex doll, and spying with Max’s drone on their neighbor Hannah. They are excited but naive about the upcoming 'kissing party' where they hope to impress girls like Brixlee.

The boys steal Hannah’s bag, hoping to find valuables, but discover molly and other items. Their attempt to exchange the bag leads to the drone's destruction and humiliation as they are caught spying. This results in the boys skipping school to avoid further trouble and get a new drone.

Max, Thor, and Lucas sell the rare baseball card to Claude, a shady buyer, in Thor’s house. They also acquire sex toys, mistaken as normal objects, which leads to the boys feeling suspicious but ultimately selling them for money. This marks a turning point in their reckless adventures.

The boys ride their bikes to the mall while being tracked by Hannah and Lily. After crashing and dislocating Lucas’ arm, they fake injuries to escape. They then attempt to buy drugs at a frat house, leading to a chaotic showdown involving paintball guns, and eventually, they trade for the drugs with the girls.

Max’s father calls him back early, and Max smuggles the drone into his house, causing chaos in his dad’s office. Realizing the gravity of his actions, Max’s parents discipline him, and Max feels increasingly isolated, questioning if he should have gone to the party in the first place.

Despite their disagreements, Lucas and Thor convince Max to join the school’s 'Rock of Ages' performance. Thor auditions and lands a part, gaining confidence in himself. Max finally kisses Brixlee, and the friends reconcile, understanding they will go their separate ways but remain close.

Thor auditions for 'Rock of Ages' and impresses everyone, eventually winning a role. The friends celebrate with a school party, where Max introduces new girlfriends, and Lucas shares his plans to protect others through SCAB. The film ends with a heartfelt scene of friendship and new beginnings.

At Thor’s celebration party, the friends discover a giant swing in Thor’s parents’ room. They enjoy playing on it, symbolizing their friendship and the fun moments they've shared, even as they prepare to go separate ways. Annabelle interrupts, indicating the ongoing chaos of adolescence.
