Set amid Egypt’s clash of tradition and modernity, the drama follows sixteen‑year‑old Yasmeen after an out‑of‑wedlock pregnancy leads to tragedy. It raises urgent questions for Egyptians and Muslims worldwide—should women follow strict Islamic dress, how parents can guard against Western influence, and whether teenage boys and girls may socialize.
