During World War II, Nazi officer Otto Schatz orders the execution of Jewish music‑hall comic Genghis Cohn. Decades later, now a respected police commissioner, Schatz investigates a string of murders and encounters Cohn’s vengeful ghost. The specter torments him, driving Schatz toward madness as he is lured into a deadly trap.
