Gatta Kusthi

Keerthi is a champion wrestler who competes in local wrestling matches, demonstrating her dedication and skill in the sport. Despite her passion, her parents disapprove because her wrestling makes it difficult for her to get married. Her supportive uncle Ganesan encourages her to pursue her ambitions.

Ganesan visits his friend Ratnam to find a suitable match for his nephew Veera. Ratnam suggests an alliance between Keerthi and Veera, noting Veera's specific demands for a submissive wife with long hair and limited education. Keerthi reluctantly agrees to marry Veera to satisfy her family's wishes.

Keerthi and Veera meet and marry, with Veera immediately showing affection for Keerthi. Keerthi begins to develop feelings for Veera as they settle in his hometown. Her initial resistance softens as they start their married life.

Veera gets into a dispute with Dass, a local political leader, who retaliates by imprisoning Ratnam and threatening Keerthi. Tensions escalate when Dass attacks Veera, prompting Keerthi to come to his rescue at a temple, revealing her strength and protective instincts.

Following her act of bravery, Keerthi becomes revered in the village. Veera, initially meek, starts to follow her lead, understanding her strength. Ratnam is released from prison and visits Keerthi, insulting her new status, which leads her to slap him in anger.

Ratnam misunderstands the situation and informs Veera that Keerthi slapped him, leading Veera to think she disrespected him. Feeling upset and confused, Keerthi leaves her home with Ganesan and stays at her parents' house until Veera is ready to reconcile.

Keerthi learns she has been enrolled in an upcoming wrestling tournament, initially believing Ganesan did it without her consent. Her father reveals he enrolled her to let her pursue her passion, and she considers competing despite her reservations.

Veera, inspired by Keerthi's dedication, also enrolls in the wrestling tournament after witnessing the hardships women face in the sport. He begins training, developing respect for Keerthi's strength and determination.

Lokesh, Keerthi's coach, manipulates events by arranging her to fight Veera and hiding her pregnancy to ensure she competes. During the match, Keerthi faints, and Veera insists on fighting Lokesh only after learning Keerthi is pregnant.

Veera fights Lokesh fiercely, defeating him and injuring him, while exposing the struggles women endure in pursuing their dreams. After the match, he advocates for women's strength and resilience, vowing to support Keerthi.

Veera visits Keerthi in the hospital, learns about the manipulated divorce papers filed by Ratnam, and declares his rejection of the divorce. Keerthi, wishing for her child's future, decides to proceed with the divorce to give him a better chance at wrestling.

Veera reassures Keerthi that she can still pursue her wrestling career after their child is born. They reconcile, with Veera promising to support her dreams and focus on fighting her opponents rather than family obstacles.

A year and a half later, Keerthi wins another wrestling match, with Veera and their daughter cheering her on. The scene highlights her triumph and the supportive family environment now surrounding her pursuits.
