Garfield’s Pet Force (2009) Timeline Explained – Every Event in Order

Vetvix agrees to marry Emperor Jon because she plans to seize the Moscram ray gun for herself. While Jon is distracted by his desire to find a wife and continue the royal line, Vetvix sees the marriage as a strategic opportunity to get close to the powerful device powered by the Klopman crystal. Her initial acceptance is part of a cunning plan for domination.

The Moscram is a ray gun invented by Professor Wally and powered by the Klopman crystal. It can scramble both inanimate objects and living beings into new creatures under the user's control. The device can also zombify characters and later be used to reverse zombification, making it the central plot device that determines the movie's outcome.

Foreshadowing: Professor Wally demonstrates the Moscram early in the film, establishing its power before Vetvix seeks to claim it.

Garfield becomes part of the Pet Force when Garzooka arrives from Comic World with serums and the Klopman crystal. The serums, developed by Professor Wally after discovering DNA matches between Comic World and Toon World residents, transform Garfield's friends, Arlene, Odie, and Nermal, into their heroic alter egos. Garfield himself takes on a leadership role in the final battle.

Foreshadowing: The Professor identifies DNA matches early and crafts serums, setting up the eventual transformations.

The movie reveals that the entire story is unfolding inside a comic book that Nermal has been reading. This meta-fictional twist shows that events happening in Toon World are actually occurring within the comic's narrative. Garzooka bursts out of the comic pages into the real cartoon world, and the characters become aware their adventure is being told as a story.

Foreshadowing: Nermal fetches a new Pet Force issue that seems to foreshadow their fate before Garzooka bursts from the pages.

Vetvix is redeemed when Garfield uses the Moscram to fuse her with a happiness invention, literally changing her personality and making her incapable of further aggression. This comedic twist transforms the villain into an ally, and she subsequently apologizes to Emperor Jon and genuinely accepts his marriage proposal. The redemption is instantaneous and played for humor rather than dramatic weight.

Emperor Jon becomes zombified during Vetvix's attack on Toon World when she unleashes her Moscram-powered zombification on most inhabitants. He is later freed when Eli uses the Moscram to reverse the zombification on everyone else during the final confrontation. After being restored, Jon resumes his place as emperor and goes through with his wedding to the now-redeemed Vetvix.

Foreshadowing: Vetvix demonstrates her zombification power early by turning most of the Pet Force into zombies.

Garzooka comes to Cartoon World because Professor Wally summons the Pet Force to stop Vetvix after she zombifies most of the team. Garzooka escapes with the Klopman crystal and the serums, traveling to Comic World (which is actually Toon World Garfield's world) to find DNA matches that could help recreate the Pet Force. His mission is to deliver the serums and the Klopman to stop Vetvix's plan for domination.

Foreshadowing: Professor Wally summons the Pet Force to counter Vetvix, but only Garzooka escapes the zombification.

The transformation serums are created by Professor Wally after he discovers that there are DNA matches between the Pet Force heroes in Comic World and Garfield's friends in Toon World. He uses this discovery to craft serums that can transform Odie, Nermal, and Arlene into their heroic alter egos: Odious, Abnermal, and Starlena. The serums initially fail when first administered but eventually work during the escape from the Comic Studios.

Foreshadowing: The Professor discovers DNA matches during the escape from Vetvix, setting up the transformation plotline.

Vetvix captures Garfield by mistake when she mistakes him for Garzooka. She was trying to seize the Klopman from Garzooka but grabs Garfield instead during the confrontation at the Comic Studios. This error allows the real Garzooka to escape with the Klopman while Garfield is held captive, though Garfield eventually escapes and the mix-up contributes to the chaos of the battle.

Eli, the head technician at the tower, uses the Moscram to save Garfield when the zombified inhabitants overwhelm the defenders. During the chaos, Eli fights to keep the power in check and assists in restoring the others after the battle. His technical expertise with the Moscram proves crucial in both saving Garfield and later reversing the mass zombification.

Foreshadowing: Eli is introduced as the head technician fighting to keep the tower's power under control.
