Dr. Edward Pretorius reveals his groundbreaking invention, the Resonator, which he claims will expand human perception beyond the ordinary. This machine sets the stage for a series of bizarre and terrifying events that unfold in the story.

Dr. Crawford Tillinghast activates the Resonator, experiencing a surge of surreal phenomena as terrifying creatures begin to manifest. The reality he once knew collapses as he becomes increasingly tormented by what he sees.

After being bitten by one of the bizarre entities, Crawford pleads with Pretorius to turn off the machine. However, Pretorius, intoxicated by the experience, refuses to listen, further plunging them into chaos.

Crawford escapes Pretorius' horrific laboratory wielding a fire axe. He encounters the police, leading to the shocking discovery of Pretorius' decapitated body, which results in Crawford being arrested for his murder.

Crawford is confined to a psychiatric facility, where he meets Dr. Katherine McMichaels. During her examination, she observes unusual changes in Crawford's pineal gland, leading her to believe in his innocence.

Determined to uncover the truth, Katherine returns to the house with Detective Bubba Brownlee, who was part of the investigation. They aim to witness the Resonator in action, hoping to understand the madness surrounding Crawford.

Once back at the house, Crawford and Katherine decide to rebuild and reactivate the Resonator. This reckless act unleashes a terrifying resurgence of grotesque creatures, including a transformed Pretorius who beckons them with promises of another world.

In a horrifying moment, Pretorius disintegrates before Crawford and Katherine, eliciting panic. Bubba reacts instinctively, drawing his weapon as the chaotic nightmare escalates with the creatures swarming around them.

As dawn breaks, the trio discusses their harrowing night over breakfast. Katherine expresses hope that the Resonator might offer insights into schizophrenia, but both Crawford and Bubba are filled with dread at the idea of using it again.

Driven by curiosity, Katherine secretly reactivates the Resonator while Crawford and Bubba nap. This reckless decision leads to a terrifying encounter with a grotesque version of Edward, threatening their very existence.

In a frantic effort to stop the chaos, Crawford and Bubba rush to the basement to cut power to the machine. They confront a monstrous worm, and in a pivotal moment, Bubba disables the Resonator, dismissing the creatures.

After the events in the basement, Katherine is overwhelmed by guilt for her reckless actions. She insists on monitoring the Resonator further, haunted by the idea of discovering where the creatures originated.

As the group faces off against the now grotesque Edward, he ensnares Katherine and threatens her life. A fierce conflict ensues, ultimately leading to Katherine using a fire extinguisher to restore some semblance of order.

As chaos erupts, Katherine manages to escape Crawford's clutches, seeking refuge from the hostile environment. An explosion rocks the building, providing a momentary distraction allowing her to flee.

In the aftermath of the explosion, Katherine, now outside, looks back in shock and declares hauntingly, 'It ATE him!' This chilling proclamation underscores the horror they have collectively endured, leaving viewers grappling with the consequences.
