On his deathbed, Don Charles instructs Mani to tell Suleiman that Solomon will bring the thing in the evening. Charles receives a cryptic call about the thing and then passes away before Mani can relay the full message. The moment sets the stage for the scramble that follows.

During Charles's mourning, Suleiman is given the task to locate the thing at the airport. Mani forgets the exact instruction due to distraction by a telemarketing call. The inability to recall the details triggers the chain of miscommunications that follows.

Suleiman goes to the airport asking people if they have the thing. A French man named Simon misreads Suleiman's name due to limited English and agrees to help, thinking Suleiman is his assigned taxi driver.

A protest by taxi drivers interrupts the journey. Suleiman is dragged from the car by protesters. He tells Simon to hand over the suitcase, and Simon grabs it and begins asking for help.

Reporter Malini and cameraman Kannappa try to interview Simon about his thoughts, but language barriers prevent a coherent conversation. Simon repeatedly asks for directions to his hotel, leaving the interview fruitless.

Asghar, an auto driver who has a crush on Malini, is introduced. Malini suggests Simon seek Asghar's help to find his hotel.

As Asghar and Simon travel, the auto collides with another car, triggering a fight that draws a crowd. A bus passes by during the chaos, and a passenger spits gutkha onto Simon.

Meanwhile, Mani and his gang capture Suleiman for interrogation. When Suleiman cannot provide a proper answer, he is subjected to chalkboard torture.

Asghar takes the auto to a mechanic; Simon freshens up and searches for a phone charger. A boy borrows the charger and connects it to the phone using a charger hidden on a bunch of bananas, leaving the phone there.

A thief steals the suitcase from the auto's backseat, triggering a chase as Simon and Asghar pursue. Despite the effort, Simon fails to nab the thief.

Simon asks for his phone, and it becomes a chaotic chase in the market. He tracks the fruit seller, who ends up with the phone after a cow eats the bananas containing the charger, and confronts Asghar, accusing him of stealing.

At the police station, Simon tries to explain that he works for a pharmaceutical company, but uses the word drug, causing officers to suspect involvement in a drug cartel. The misunderstanding is resolved and he is released.

The public funeral proceeds with Charles's remains carried through the streets. As Asghar and Simon watch, the thief who stole the bag appears among the pallbearers, and Charles's body nearly topples as the chaos escalates.

The focus shifts to Rahila, Asghar's sister, who eloped with Purshottam; her mother-in-law torments her for not having a child. They go to a fertility clinic, where the doctor says Purushottam's sperm count is low. Rahila returns home with a divorce notice from Purushottam's mother.

Mani summons Asghar and asks about Simon, then tells him Purushottam plans to flee to Dubai. A servant reveals that Asghar caused Charles's body to fall, prompting Mani's gang to pursue Asghar as he flees.
