Felicia's Journey

Felicia, a young Irish teenager, faces a life-altering moment when her boyfriend, Johnny, leaves her to join the British Army. This abandonment leaves her pregnant and desperate for a solution, triggering her quest to find him.

To track down Johnny, Felicia embarks on a ferry to England, fueled by hope and desperation. She believes that he has found work in a lawnmower factory located in Birmingham, setting her sights on this specific destination.

Upon her arrival, Felicia meets Joseph Hilditch, a peculiar catering manager with a mysterious past. Hilditch expresses willingness to help her locate Johnny, but his true intentions remain unclear and unsettling.

Felicia's visit to the lawnmower factory ends in disillusionment as she finds no sign of Johnny. This disappointment deepens her sense of isolation and raises her suspicions about Hilditch's intentions.

While Felicia is temporarily away from the car, Hilditch seizes the opportunity to steal her money. This betrayal marks a crucial turning point in Felicia’s journey, deepening her vulnerabilities.

After realizing her money is missing, Felicia is taken in by a Jamaican Christian pedlar who offers her a place to stay at a church hostel. This gesture gives her a moment of respite amidst her struggles.

Convinced that the hostel residents are behind her missing money, Felicia confronts them in a fit of frustration. The situation escalates, reflecting her growing paranoia and desperation.

Hilditch, now aware of Felicia's hardships, concocts a story about his wife’s death while misleading her regarding Johnny’s whereabouts. His manipulation becomes increasingly toxic and dangerous.
