His earlier job shining shoes for $2 per day showed his preference for earning independence rather than receiving handouts.

After Emmanuel submitted a grant application to the Challenged Athletes Foundation requesting a bike, his extraordinary determination caught their attention. The organization not only provided the bike but also invited him to participate in their triathlon event in America, giving him a platform to showcase his capabilities.

Emmanuel chose to forgive his father despite years of abandonment because his journey taught him the power of love and acceptance.
