Emergency Declaration

At Incheon International Airport, Jin-seok suspiciously asks a staff member about the most popular flights. When denied an answer, he becomes hostile and insults the staff before heading to the bathroom. His strange behavior raises suspicion about his intentions.

In the bathroom, Jin-seok surgically inserts a cylindrical object into his armpit, indicating he is hiding something. This act reveals his intent to smuggle a dangerous virus onto the plane discreetly.

Jae-hyuk and his daughter Soo-min are also at the airport, unaware of Jin-seok's sinister plan. Jin-seok later approaches them with inappropriate questions, prompting Jae-hyuk to shield his daughter and move away.

Jin-seok unknowingly or intentionally smuggles a virus onboard the flight by hiding it inside an asthma inhaler, setting the stage for a viral outbreak once airborne.

Detective In-ho investigates a threatening viral video and traces it back to Jin-seok, leading to a search of his home where evidence of animal testing and a decomposed corpse are discovered.

Jin-seok releases the virus in the airplane bathroom, contaminating it. A passenger who uses the bathroom collapses from severe hemorrhaging, indicating the virus's deadly effects.

As the flight progresses, multiple passengers show symptoms of infection. Jae-hyuk identifies Jin-seok as the culprit after seeing a terror threat video on his device.

With panic escalating, Jin-seok is confronted and restrained after releasing more of the virus. The situation intensifies as the virus spreads among the passengers and crew.

The pilot collapses from infection, causing the plane to dive uncontrollably. Jae-hyuk, a former pilot, volunteers to stabilize the aircraft alongside flight attendant Hyun-soo, trying to regain control.

Detective In-ho pursues Jin-seok’s accomplice and uncovers that the virus is a mutated hemorrhagic strain from the Middle East, linked to Jin-seok’s dismissal from a pharmaceutical company.

The U.S. and Japan deny landing permission to the infected flight, while public panic in South Korea grows with protests and online outrage, as fears of contagion escalate.

Realizing the danger, passengers, including Soo-min, volunteer not to disembark to prevent further spread. Jae-hyuk declares that the plane will stay airborne without attempting to land.

An experimental antiviral drug administered to In-ho yields promising results. Confirmed as an effective vaccine, it offers hope to contain the outbreak.

With dwindling fuel and infected patients onboard, the plane is diverted to a military airstrip instead of landing, avoiding a disaster on the ground and allowing emergency handling.

Following the landing, the government faces political fallout with the Minister of Land resigning. Jin-seok’s sociopathy is exposed, and the survivors reunite at a celebration, marking the end of the crisis.
