Jim is a shy, withdrawn loner who is also a virgin, while Lana is a friendly, outgoing born again Christian who has left a promiscuous, drug‑filled past. They first meet when they step into an elevator together, which then becomes stuck between floors, forcing them to confront their differences and begin to understand each other.
