David kills his brother-in-law at the scene after a violent family incident. The 5-year-old Thomas is pressured to take the blame, and he agrees. When the police arrive, Thomas breaks down and reveals the truth, resulting in David's arrest.

Fifteen years pass in prison for David before his release. He reunites with Thomas, who has fallen into extreme poverty and hardship. They decide to team up for a kidnapping scheme to demand a ransom from wealthy people.

David and Thomas kidnap Swetha, the daughter of wealthy builder Perumal, and hold her in a remote hideout. They inform Perumal of the kidnapping and warn him not to involve the police. The plan is to pressure him into paying a ransom.

Perumal seeks the help of retired police officer Nataraj, who cannot leave his home to care for his daughter Pia, who has a rare medical condition. Nataraj decides to handle the matter unofficially, calling his former colleagues to his homes rather than the police station. He resolves to work the case quietly to avoid alerting the kidnappers.

Swetha fights Thomas and takes his gun. When Thomas removes his mask, Swetha realizes they are lovers and are planning to elope, not to help David. They discuss keeping the ransom for themselves.

David demands Rs. 80 million from Perumal for his daughter's life, but Perumal privately tells Nataraj the ransom is only Rs. 10 million due to illegitimate assets. Nataraj learns of this deception but keeps it secret while he continues to work on the case. The tension grows as the truth begins to surface.

The conspirators send Swetha's hair to Perumal, threatening that her head will be next if police intervene. Perumal then asks Nataraj to stop investigating, and Nataraj agrees. The threat raises the stakes and forces secrecy.

David designs a ransom drop at a designated place, but Thomas secretly tells Perumal to drop money at another site to avoid David. David learns that Thomas and Swetha are lovers and planning behind his back, prompting him to confront Swetha privately and discredit Thomas.

Nataraj's doctor informs him Pia can be cured in Singapore at a cost of Rs. 10 million. Knowing Perumal's ransom is a lie, Nataraj hatches a plan to steal the money to fund her treatment.

Perumal places the money at Thomas's designated place; David, thinking the payoff is ready, releases Swetha who is unconscious. Thomas escapes with the Rs. 80 million but is soon stopped by Nataraj. The standoff tightens the knot of the criminals.

David arrives at the scene and fights Thomas, and the two reconcile as Thomas realizes David stood by him even in jail. Swetha arrives at the scene, shoots Thomas, and kills him, blaming his betrayal.

Nataraj rushes to the airport with Pia for Singapore treatment; just as Pia shivers, Nataraj burns the ransom money to create a fire and save his daughter. The film ends with the personal sacrifice that saves Pia and destroys the criminal wealth.
