Ebar Shabor

Shabor Dasgupta, a Kolkata police detective, is entrusted with solving the murder of Mitali Ghosh. He assigns his assistant Nandalal to help probe the case and begins gathering initial testimonies. The case quickly reveals a tangle of secrets within the Ghosh family and their circle.

Mitali hosts a party for friends and family the night she is murdered. The festive mood masks underlying tensions among ex-husband Mithu, his new girlfriend Joyeeta, and Mitali's tangled past. Samiran, Julekha, and Khonika are among those present, each with secrets of their own.

It is revealed that Mitali had eloped with Pantu Haldar in the past, an act that shattered his future and left him devastated. Police brutality and a bribed cover-up contributed to Pantu's ruin, including nerve damage and erectile dysfunction. These consequences fuel longstanding rage against Mitali and her lineage.

Pantu was arrested and beaten by police paid by Mitali's father, a brutal act that left him permanently damaged. The violence was a direct response to Mitali's past affair, turning him into someone with a deep-seated grudge. This history forms a kernel of motive for the later murder.

Doyel, a nurse, started a sexual relationship with Mitali's father when Mitali was away, and a son was born from them. Doyel tries to leverage this relationship for a share of the father's property after his death, but is dismissed as fraud. Her schemes add another layer of tension within the family.

In the evening before the party, Doyel sneaks into the house with the help of servant Haren da to steal money. The attempted burglary shows desperation and greed driving the cast of characters. The incident plants seeds of suspicion around the household.

Julekha, a school PE teacher, has connections with Pantu and others and engages in prostitution for money. Pantu pays her but cannot satisfy her due to erectile dysfunction, provoking his humiliation and further resentment toward Mitali's circle.

After her father's death, Mitali returns to Kolkata and stays with Joyeeta's family. This return deepens the family entanglements as Joyeeta announces she is dating Mithu, leaving Mitali heartbroken. Mitali's attempts to win Mithu back by joining their accounts intensify the rivalry.

Joyeeta confirms that she is dating Mithu, creating a painful triangle with Mitali who had hoped to rekindle a relationship. Mitali's heartbreak catalyzes tense dynamics among the trio and affects how she navigates the party setting.

During the party, Samiran flirts with Mitali, while Khonika is disgusted by the advances. Mitali confides to Khonika about Mithu and Joyeeta's ongoing affair, exposing a web of secrets surrounding the family. These conversations foreshadow the explosive confrontation to come.
