Sandy, the neighbor, drops by and becomes entangled in the situation. She discovers Sammy's body, triggering panic as Gary and Cameron scramble to keep her from exposing them. Sandy eventually evades them and becomes trapped inside a closet.

Desperate to cover their tracks, they hire Buck, a necrophiliac from the dark web, to remove the body. Buck arrives and begins cleaning the blood-stained house, normalizing the brutal task within the trio. The group grows closer under the pressure and secrecy.

Gary discloses he has a brain tumor and only about a month to live. He expresses regret for conformist living and resents his lost opportunities to live openly. He also reveals his wife left him after he came out as gay, adding another layer of loneliness.

The trio shares crack cocaine, seeking escape from mounting guilt, and later goes for a swim as dawn approaches. When morning comes, they realize Sammy's body has vanished, triggering fresh panic and uncertainty.

Buck arrives to retrieve Sammy's body and ends up running Sammy over, escalating the danger. In the aftermath, Cameron and Gary kill Buck and bury both Buck and Sammy in unmarked graves.

With the bodies buried, Gary and Cameron share a moment of intimacy, signaling how far they have gone to protect themselves. Their evolving bond under pressure hints at a troubling new closeness born of shared guilt.

Cameron receives an invitation to Gary's funeral and attends, confronting Gary's ex-wife Patty and the mourners. He accuses them of corrupting Gary's legacy by enforcing conventional expectations. The confrontation exposes the ongoing conflict over Gary's memory.

Cameron steals Gary's body from the funeral and drives it to the lake adjoining Gary's house. He fills Gary's pockets with rocks and drags the body into the water until it sinks. The film ends with a final, Adam-like gesture as Cameron reaches toward Gary's arm.
