Gul enters the couple's apartment and takes Saanchi hostage while she is alone; the Mumbai Police arrive and ACP Harishchandra Malik begins negotiations. The standoff quickly becomes a tense, high-profile crisis drawing media attention.

News media swarm outside the apartment complex, sensationalizing every development of the hostage drama. Reporters amplify rumors and scrutinize the captors' motives as the city watches.

Yathaarth informs Malik that Saanchi was recently diagnosed with a delusional disorder and that she could relapse if she does not take her prescribed medication. This medical context adds pressure to the negotiators as they juggle safety concerns with instability.

Inside the apartment, Saanchi tells Gul that Yathaarth is trying to drug her and hints at her wealth and an affair with her psychiatrist Vidya. The dialogue reveals her manipulative nature and Gul's evolving interest in shaping the hostage dynamic.

Gul reveals a violent backstory: he delivered a bomb to a hostel, killing 13 people, after being betrayed by his Kashmir-based uncle. He is convicted and uses this history to intimidate Malik and the police.

Malik and Yathaarth clash over the next move, with Yathaarth insisting on going to the apartment with Malik to pressure Gul. The disagreement highlights the tension between cautious negotiation and decisive action.

Saanchi begins seducing Gul as part of a plan to escape, but she betrays him by signaling to the police that his gun magazine is empty. Gul's trust in Saanchi shifts as he realizes he has misread the situation, heightening the danger.

Gul brings Saanchi back into the living room, ties her to a chair, and reveals that he had given her pills via the chai she prepared. The power dynamic tightens as Saanchi's health and control over the situation waver.

Saanchi tries to initiate sex with Gul, but he has second thoughts and later discards her pills, planning to run away with her. The moment reveals shifting loyalties and the volatility of their relationship.

Malik and Yathaarth agree on a ransom of INR 50 lakhs to secure Gul's arrest and defuse the crisis quickly. They coordinate with police to trap Gul while managing the hostage situation.

Yaatharth returns to the apartment with the ransom money, and gunfire erupts. Saanchi is killed in Yaatharth's arms, and Gul claims that Yaatharth shot her, turning the narrative of responsibility.

In court, Yaatharth testifies that Saanchi asked for his help during the altercation while Gul claims Yaatharth attacked first. Malik presents medical and psychological evidence showing Gul's delusional state, and the court upholds Gul's death sentence while recognizing Saanchi as a victim.

It is revealed that Yaatharth and Vidya conspired to give Saanchi the wrong medication, with Malik involved as the third person she named. Saanchi tries to flee by blackmailing Malik to abandon the case.

Gul loses his sanity and is sent to a mental institution, where he imagines Saanchi. The film closes on a note of mutual deceit: Yaatharth deceived Saanchi, and Gul was also deceived by both Saanchi and Malik, underscoring the film’s theme of Dhokha.
