Dharala Prabhu

In Chennai, Dr. Kannadasan runs a fertility clinic and searches for a healthy sperm donor. He screens applications from the Employment Exchange Department and finds Prabhu Govind, a promising candidate from the sports quota. This identification sets the plot in motion as Kannadasan eyes Prabhu as the key to his clinic's success.

Prabhu, a cheerful young man with a football flair, meets Nidhi Mandhana at a mall and is instantly drawn to her. Kannadasan starts following Prabhu, quietly pressing him to donate sperm. Prabhu is initially wary and rejects the idea, while his budding romance with Nidhi continues.

Prabhu rejects Kannadasan's request outright, disgusted by the meddling in his personal life. Kannadasan remains determined to secure a donor to keep his business afloat. The tension between them over the donation persists as Prabhu continues with his life.

After seeing his football coach lament about infertility, Prabhu decides to donate sperm regularly. Kannadasan pays him for each donation, and Prabhu enjoys the money while keeping the arrangement from his family. This financial incentive deepens his secret life and strains his relationships.

Kannadasan sabotages Prabhu’s attempts to get steady employment so he remains in business. Feeling betrayed, Prabhu walks away from that path and resolves to marry Nidhi. The donor-clinic dynamic drives a wedge between Prabhu's ambitions and his personal life.

Realizing Prabhu's potential, Kannadasan helps him land his dream job and begins rebuilding bridges with his family and Nidhi. Prabhu marries Nidhi, signaling a tentative consolidation of their lives. Yet the underlying secret of the donor remains unresolved.

At Kannadasan's prompting, Prabhu makes one last donation. Kannadasan covertly uses Prabhu's sperm to father a child for a state minister and secures a large settlement. The event demonstrates the extent of Kannadasan's influence and the price of secrets.

Nidhi and Prabhu struggle to have a child and three years pass without success. Kannadasan suggests surrogacy, but the couple chooses to adopt instead. This marks a hopeful pivot toward building a family through adoption.

The couple adopts Kavya, a three-year-old whose parents died in a car accident. Later, Prabhu learns Kavya is his biological child, conceived through one of his donations. He is horrified, and Kannadasan admits the truth, creating a moral crisis.

Prabhu confronts Kavya's origins and urges Kannadasan to tell Nidhi. Kannadasan confesses but argues Prabhu should raise Kavya with love. Prabhu agrees to keep Kavya's true origins secret from the rest of the family and to care for her as his own.

Prabhu is arrested by the Income Tax Department on charges of handling black money. Kannadasan steps in to aid him, and with no other record they reveal the truth to the police. They escape prosecution due to the minister's influence, exposing political protection behind the scheme.

Disillusioned by the revelations, Nidhi leaves Prabhu. Prabhu reconciles with Kannadasan, and the two invite Nidhi, Kavya, and other families to a function at an orphanage. Kannadasan reveals that 49 children were conceived via Prabhu's donations, which helps heal the rift and brings the families together.
