A famous saying goes, “One can come to power with a bayonet, but not sit on it.” The film recounts the 27 May 1960 coup, when a group of young Turkish officers seized control, ending the ten‑year Democratic Party rule. Their decisive action broke the traditional chain of command, secured popular support, and ushered in a new “second republic” era that would shape Turkey’s future.
