The series traces Turkey’s tumultuous path to democracy over nine episodes, showing the collapse of a one‑party system, the dissolution of the national chiefdom, and the painful birth of the first free general elections. It follows the rise and fall of a new power, the military coup of May 27, the officers’ failed attempt to contain a revolutionary storm that eventually turned on its own, as the revolution began to speak its own language.
