Set during Turkey’s early multi‑party era, the film shows the Democratic Party’s landslide in the 1954 election, winning 56 % of the vote and 93 of 100 parliamentary seats. Prime Minister Adnan Menderes enjoys peak prestige, but the story suggests this apex also signals the start of the party’s decline as political tensions rise across the nation.
