Deep, Kraken's grandson, finds life in the underwater colony boring and becomes curious about objects created by humans. He convinces Evo and Alice to join him on a quest to find Nathan. Their aim is to secure a safer future for their community by locating the mythical white whale.

Deep's prank backfires and endangers the colony, trapping inhabitants behind stones. Kraken explains that only Nathan can help, and provides the landmarks needed to locate him. The trio commits to the dangerous journey despite the risks.

They reach the Titanic wreck and encounter Norma, the vampire squid, who performs music for them. Norma reveals that to find Nathan they must head toward Broadway. The message sets their next destination on the journey.

Leaving the Titanic proves difficult as Norma refuses to let them go and tries to keep them in place. The group must navigate her interference to continue their mission. Tension rises as the escape becomes a test of teamwork.

Deep is attacked by Maura, a Moray eel, who later confesses loneliness after learning Deep has friends. Despite Alice and Evo's objections, Deep accepts Maura into the team. The group grows larger, bringing new dynamics to the quest.

At Brooklyn Bridge, they face Rico, the yeti crab who challenges them to a dance battle. Alice's performance wins Rico's affection, and he allows the group to pass into the flooded streets of New York. The journey continues through a transformed metropolis.

They enter the radiation zone and battle a swarm of zombie piranhas, forcing the group to rely on each other to survive. The dangers of their voyage intensify, testing trust and resilience. The crew pushes forward despite peril.

They realize they are lost and argue about their direction. They meet Darcy, Luigi the walrus, and Ralph the dolphin, who distract them by watching a film about Ark-1 and Ark-2 while revealing plans to freeze everyone with Ark-3. The conspirators propose an audacious exit strategy for aquatic life.

They are captured and meet Nathan, chained inside Ark-3. Darcy intends to freeze everyone, including Maura, unless the team acts. The stakes are raised as the fate of their world hangs in the balance.

Deep, Alice and Evo manage to disable the freezing cell and escape, joining Maura in a battle against Darcy, Luigi, and Ralph. They defeat the trio and are expelled from Ark-3 along with Nathan and other sea creatures. The immediate threat is overcome, but the journey isn't over yet.

Returning home, the group works to free Kraken and the others from debris. Deep nearly sacrifices his life to complete the rescue but is revived, demonstrating true loyalty and bravery. The colony begins to recover as danger abates.

With Kraken freed, Maura proposes fertilizing and increasing the population to ensure survival. Deep experiences a blossoming romance, signaling a hopeful future for him personally and for their community. The horizon broadens with renewed purpose.

Darcy, Ralph and Luigi are left stranded on a floating ice floe in the Arctic Ocean near Greenland, crying out for help as they drift away from the others. Their fate remains uncertain while the rest of the group looks toward rebuilding and renewal.
