When a brutal mutant attack shatters the tribe’s routine, the group flees into a cave and seals the entrance with heavy logs. In that tense moment, the elder’s insistence that they should pray rather than fight clashes with Kaleb’s instinct to act, and the scene exposes a rift between belief and action in how the survivors face annihilation. Kaleb’s quick intervention saves Dorel from a mutant, forging a life-changing connection between them and setting the stage for a dangerous romance that blooms under pressure. After the encounter, the trio resolves to seek help beyond the park’s borders to save the rest of their kin.

A stranger arrives as if summoned by fate. Amal, a weary wanderer, steps forward with a hint of mystery and a chance for salvation. He is accompanied by his wife Neenah and their son Persk, living on the opposite bank of a river that mutants won’t cross. Amal’s signal fire atop an ancient monolith becomes a beacon for The Brotherhood, a friendly faction that might lend support. But the journey is perilous: mutants relentlessly pursue them, and Amal suffers injuries that force Kaleb, Dorel, and Savan to press onward without him. Captured at one point, Kaleb and Dorel discover that Dorel has fallen ill—infected but not yet transformed—while Savan remains a stalwart, offering courage in the face of overwhelming odds. Amal survives a flesh wound, and Kaleb and Dorel return him to his family, celebrated as a symbol of resilience and unity in the face of catastrophe. In the days that follow, Miru’s return to education marks a new dawn for the tribe, demonstrating that literacy and knowledge can survive where technology has faltered.
