The commandment “Thou shalt not steal” looms over the story. As a high‑school student, Majka gives birth to a daughter, Ania, who is raised by Majka’s mother, Ewa, as her own child. When Majka feels ready to become a mother herself, Ewa clings to the girl, prompting Majka to abduct Ania, setting off unforeseen emotional turmoil.
