Dear Wendy

In the coal mining town of Electric Park, West Virginia, Dick uncovers what he believes is a harmless toy gun. This discovery ignites his curiosity and sets the stage for unforeseen adventures involving firearms.

After learning that the antique firearm is functional, Dick befriends a coworker who shares his interest in recreational target shooting. They both delve deeply into firearms history, fostering a unique bond over their shared enthusiasm.

Dick and his coworker attract other teens who feel similarly disenchanted, leading to the formation of a group called 'the Dandies.' This collective embraces an eccentric retro style and language, creating their own quirky identity.

As Dick grows attached to his antique gun, which he names 'Wendy,' he begins expressing his feelings through romantic letters. This anthropomorphism of the weapon deepens his emotional connection to it.

The Dandies establish a secret sanctuary in a repurposed mining shaft, calling it their 'Temple.' Here, they engage in target practice, while adhering to a strict code to keep their firearms hidden from the public eye.

Dick's life takes a turn when his nanny, Clarabelle, introduces him to her troubled grandson, Sebastian. The local Sheriff assigns Dick to informally mentor Sebastian, hoping the relationship will benefit them both.

Sebastian arrives with a mysterious box full of firearms, creating tension among the Dandies. His presence disrupts the group's dynamic, raising concerns about the rules that govern their collective.

After Sebastian confides in Dick about worries regarding gang violence, Dick suggests that the Dandies accompany Clarabelle to visit a relative. However, this seemingly good intention spirals into chaos as they encounter law enforcement.

During the tense encounter with the deputy sheriff, an accident occurs as Clarabelle accidentally fires her weapon, injuring an officer. This tragic incident escalates the dire situation for the Dandies.

Following the injury to the officer, Sheriff Krugby demands the Dandies surrender Clarabelle. Sensing a trap, they decide to flee to the Temple, taking her along as the police close in.

Sebastian discovers Dick's final letter to Wendy, filled with cryptic lines that unsettle him. This revelation raises tensions as Sebastian prepares to confront the mounting chaos at the Temple.

As the police launch their assault on the Dandies' sanctuary, Sebastian, armed and wounded, steps outside. The confrontation escalates into a violent clash, leaving many Dandies severely injured.

Despite his own wounds, Dick manages to escort Clarabelle to her cousin's home. In the midst of the turmoil, he tragically loses his beloved gun, Wendy, which serves as a symbol of his emotional journey.

Amidst the chaos, Sebastian finds Wendy lying in the street and seizes it. In a shocking twist, he confronts Dick, leading to a betrayal that dramatically alters the group's fate.

As mayhem ensues inside the house, police on a nearby rooftop begin firing shots, turning the situation into a full-blown crisis. This escalation risks the lives of everyone in the Dandies as they face dire consequences.
