Deadly Manor

Two couples—Tony and Helen, and Rod and Susan—are traveling with friends Peter and Anne through upstate New York when they pick up Jack, a hitchhiker who claims to know the area. He seems helpful but hints at dangerous knowledge, hinting at trouble ahead. The group continues toward a lake, unaware of the danger Jack represents.

As night falls they fail to reach the lake and decide to pull off onto a side road to camp. At the end of the winding road they find an abandoned house and choose to spend the night there. The eerie property hints at a dark past.

In the yard they notice a burned, damaged car oddly parked atop a stone monument, creating a strange shrine. Inside the car is a photo of a beautiful young woman along with clothing items, suggesting some ritualistic backstory. The discovery unsettles everyone and foreshadows danger inside the house.

Helen is profoundly frightened by the house and refuses to stay the night. She sets off to find the nearest town to seek help, but is murdered in the woods by an unseen assailant. The group realizes she is gone and the danger has escalated.

The remaining group breaks into the house and begins to explore. In the basement they find several sealed coffins and more photos of the unknown woman pasted on the walls. Evidence suggests someone has recently inhabited the home.

They come across a closet full of mementos, including what appears to be a human scalp. The gruesome discovery deepens the horror and hints at a violent history connected to the house. The group grows increasingly paranoid.

Tony explores upstairs and comes across a photo album containing pictures of nude corpses. The discovery disturbs him, and later that night he dreams of having sex with the woman in the photographs. The dream intensifies the tension within the group.

Tony returns to the basement and finds a coffin labeled 'Amanda' open. Jack confronts Tony in the stairwell, accusing him of stealing items from the house. Tony goes outside to the car atop the stone monument to smoke a cigarette.

Rod and Susan awake and go upstairs to have sex. When Rod goes outside to retrieve condoms, he is killed. Moments later, Susan sees a woman wearing a white mask staring at her through the window and is then killed.

Tony finds Helen's bloody corpse concealed inside the wrecked car. His screams wake Peter and Anne, who find him crying over Helen. The discovery marks the turn from mystery to survival.

In the adjacent barn the group finds numerous vandalized motorcycles buried in hay, including Peter and Anne's. The chilling sight confirms the attackers' reach and depravity. Peter and Anne flee to the nearest road to flag down help.

Tony, who continues to search for Rod and Susan, is confronted by a dying Jack in the stairwell. He is then dragged back into the basement where he is stabbed to death by the assailant.

A passing aristocrat Alfred stabs Peter in the throat after Anne notes a photo on the dashboard. Alfred's actions reveal a plan of murder against travelers. Anne flees into the woods with Alfred in pursuit, though she later returns toward the mansion.

Anne discovers the bodies of Tony, Rod, and Susan inside the mansion. She is confronted by Amanda as Alfred and police close in. A plaster wall cracks to reveal a cache of corpses; police arrive to arrest Jack, and Alfred is shot dead. Anne and Amanda are escorted away in separate police cars.
