Kiran Awasti, a striking college student, returns home to visit her older brother Vijay Awasti and his wife Poonam Awasthi. Her life takes a tense turn as her classmate, Rahul Mehra, who is quietly in love with her, begins to shadow her every move. At the same time, Kiran’s boyfriend, Sunil Malhotra, an officer in the Indian Navy, anchors her world in a different, steadier current. Sunil’s commanding officer, Captain Avinash Mehra, happens to be Rahul’s father, a connection that adds complexity to the web of relationships surrounding Kiran.
From the start, Rahul’s plea for closeness collides with Kiran’s fear. He makes repeated attempts to insert himself into her life by presenting a façade of friendliness to Sunil, hoping to get near Kiran through him. Kiran, however, rejects Rahul’s overbearing overtures and asserts her independence, even as Rahul continues to press for control. The family becomes unsettled when Rahul shows up at Kiran’s birthday and again during Holi, amplifying the sense of danger that surrounds her.
Seeking to protect Kiran and to shield her from Rahul’s increasing obsession, Vijay and Poonam push for a union between Kiran and Sunil. Their belief is that a formal engagement will put a definitive end to Rahul’s meddling and calm the turmoil that has taken root in Kiran’s life. The plan, rooted in protection and affection, initially seems to offer a path to safety. Yet Rahul’s desperation erupts into aggression when he tries to murder Sunil, a crime that fails but reveals the depths of his fixation.
The pursuit intensifies as Sunil, determined to confront the stalker, chases Rahul, unaware that the hunter and the hunted are bound by the same love for Kiran. A reckless accident on Sunil’s part sends him to the hospital, and Kiran makes a desperate choice to flee the city to keep Rahul away from her fiancé. Yet Rahul tracks her to where she hides, and when Sunil corners him, Rahul suffers a violent reversal of fate.
Kiran’s world seems to unravel as the stalker’s shadow closes in, and she is eventually reunited with Sunil, who insists on marrying her that very night. The couple’s wedding becomes a battleground of desire and fear as Rahul—unwilling to surrender—arrives at the ceremony with a chilling resolve to claim Kiran for himself. The tension peaks when Rahul forces a marriage between them, presenting his mother’s old saree as a coercive symbol of supposed consent.
Before the moment of triumph can fully settle, the grim truth strikes: Sunil has not died. He reappears to rescue Kiran, unleashing a brutal confrontation with Rahul. In the end, Sunil shoots Rahul multiple times, ending his life as Rahul, in his final moments, begs for mercy and for Kiran not to hate him. The scene closes with Kiran and Sunil returning to India, where they are welcomed back by their relieved relatives and begin to rebuild their lives together.
Śādī Mubārāka Kiraṇa (Congrats on your marriage, Kiran)
Tuma mērī hō Kiraṇa (You are mine, Kiran)
The film gently, yet relentlessly, traces the escalating pressure of forbidden love, the lengths to which a pursuer will go when a beloved is out of reach, and the resilience of a couple who choose to face a dangerous truth together. Through the eyes of Kiran, Rahul, and Sunil, the story moves from the comfort of home to the fear of being watched, and finally to a tense, cleansing act of protection. The emotional heart remains clear: love can be both a balm and a peril, and courage can emerge in the moments when it is most desperately needed.
