Vikram's anger and controlling behavior surface early in the marriage as he repeatedly mistreats Priya. His abuse establishes a dangerous dynamic at home and foreshadows the violence that will escalate.

His violence escalates to murder when he kills a doctor who had treated Priya and was trying to help her blind mother. The act demonstrates the extent of his cruelty and the lengths he will go to maintain control.

Vikram arranges a birthday boat trip for Priya, but a violent storm traps them on the water. During the mayhem, Priya escapes and fights to survive while Vikram wrongly believes she drowned. She later reaches shore by swimming back to safety.

After arriving in Shimla, Priya meets Raj Malhotra, who immediately falls in love with her. Priya keeps him at a distance, unsure whether she can trust or open her heart after her traumatic past.

Priya's mother urges her to tell Raj the truth about her marriage, leaving him the choice to accept her. Priya writes a letter describing her past life and the abuse she endured, hoping honesty will pave the way forward.

Hari misplaces Priya's original letter and arranges for someone to craft a new one. Raj receives the replacement, which contains only a poem, and believes Priya is still bound by marriage, prompting him to step back.

Eventually the original letter is found and given to Raj, restoring Priya's truth. With the letter's return, Raj falls in love again and resolves to marry her.

A newspaper photo confirms Priya is alive, prompting Vikram to cancel his Goa plans and travel to Shimla to find her. He intensifies his search, determined to reclaim control.

Vikram discovers Priya is about to marry Raj and makes attempts to intervene, first trying to kill Raj and then falsely accusing him of murder, landing Raj in prison.

Vikram goes to Priya's house and kills her friend while also attempting to kill Priya. The assault heightens the danger and drives the conflict toward its climax.

During the climax, Raj proves his innocence and clashes with Vikram, ultimately drowning Vikram in a bathtub full of water. This moment marks Vikram's apparent death as Priya and Raj flee.

Raj and Priya rush to a nearby rail station as Vikram continues his pursuit. On the tracks, Vikram's foot gets stuck while a train approaches; Priya pleads for him to move, but he pushes her away, declaring he frees her from all bonds before the train hits him.
