Yasuda is a chronically bullied salaryman who has lived years of professional disappointment and personal humiliation. The woman he secretly loves mockingly treats him with contempt, and his daily life feels like a series of small defeats. In a moment of impulsive desperation, he hopes that robbing a bank will give him the breakthrough and respect that has eluded him in ordinary life.

Yasuda enters a convenience store to shoplift a respirator mask as a makeshift disguise for his planned bank robbery. Store clerks and customers identify him as a suspicious figure. Takeda had previously contracted an assassin to murder a rival faction's boss. However, when the hit was carried out, Takeda cowardly pulled back at the last moment. The attack ended up killing both his own faction's boss and the rival boss simultaneously, creating a massive mess that left Takeda consumed with guilt. This catastrophic failure drives him to join the chase rather than flee from his problems.

The revelation of this botched plot explains Takeda's psychological state and his willingness to risk everything.

The trio's frantic pursuit leads them to the rival yakuza faction's lair, where federal agents also arrive with the intent to arrest all three fugitives. Tensions escalate when a member of the rival faction attempts to open fire, only to discover his gun is a fake, a hollow sham weapon.
