Anna Forbes is assaulted and sexually abused by her father‑in‑law. When she finally tells her husband Mark, he refuses to believe her and sides with his father, who denies the abuse. As Anna’s attempts to be heard grow desperate and erratic, Mark commits her to a psychiatric institution, deepening her isolation and fear.
