In 1932 the nation was horrified by the kidnapping, ransom and murder of Charles Lindbergh’s 14‑month‑old son. The film follows the investigation, the 1934 arrest of Bruno Richard Hauptmann, his trial and execution, showing a police force that fabricated evidence, bribed and blackmailed witnesses, and hid exculpatory information.
