Crazy with the Heat

A hot desert road sets the scene as Donald and Goofy's car breaks down and runs out of gas. They are forced to abandon the vehicle and begin walking, hoping to find help before the heat overwhelms them. The desert heat quickly drains their energy as they trudge onward.

Donald succumbs to dehydration as they stagger along the path. Goofy fumbles for relief, pulling out a canteen and taking a drink, but Donald snatches it away and insists they are lost. The tension grows as the search for water or direction proves futile.

Goofy pulls out a tiny map and a magnifying glass to verify their course, but a ray from the glass overheats the map and it catches fire. In a panic, Goofy snatches the canteen back and douses the flames, wasting the remaining water. Donald begins digging in the sand for any moisture as the last drop drains away.

Goofy decides to press on by himself, venturing west across the desert in search of assistance. He moves ahead with a hopeful resolve, leaving Donald behind to recover or find water later. The heat and emptiness of the desert surround him as he continues.

Goofy spots what looks like a soda fountain in the distance and approaches it to quench his thirst. An Arab Spirit materializes in the mirage, and Goofy asks him for a soda.

The first soda vanishes just as Goofy is about to drink, revealing the mirage. The Spirit provides two more sodas, but they vanish when Goofy tries to drink them. He attempts another drink, only to have it disappear as well, and the Spirit then offers four additional sodas.

The Spirit demands that Goofy owes six bucks for the sodas, but Goofy refuses to pay. In retaliation, the Spirit forces Goofy to clean several dishes.

Back with Donald, he longs for water and spots an iceberg mirage ahead. He runs toward what looks like liquid water and tries to hug the ice, only for the mirage to vanish. He repeats the chase, hoping to find relief that never comes.

Donald and Goofy crash into each other, causing multiple dishes to break in the chaos. The mishap draws the Spirit's attention and escalates the peril in the desert. They scramble to regain control while more dishes lie shattered.

The angry Spirit appears and attacks them with a sword, forcing the two friends to flee. They race across the hot sand in a desperate bid for escape. The threat lingers even as they continue moving.

Spotting a camel, Donald and Goofy mount it and ride away from the chase. They escape the desert together, ending the cartoon on a note of relief despite the misadventure.
