Callie's mother sends her to her aunt's ranch while she works in London, hoping the hard labor will temper the teen’s wild streak. Initially sulky, Callie brightens when she sees a beautiful, untamed black horse slated for destruction. She and ranch hand Rafe secretly rescue the animal, hide it, and together they gently coax it into trust, successfully beginning its training—though they must keep the hideout hidden from the rest of the ranch.
