Chronic Bachelor

A feud rips apart the families of Sathyaprathapan and Bhavani. Sathyaprathapan’s sister and Bhavani’s cousin fall in love in spite of the feud. Vishnu’s murder is falsely pinned on Balagangadharan, triggering a chain of tragedies that includes the sister’s suicide and Balagangadharan’s death. To support Bhavani’s family, Sathyaprathapan mortgages his own house and begins financing her factory, setting the seeds of future conflict.

Pillai and SP locate Kuruvilla, who witnessed Vishnu’s murder. His testimony exposes goons hired by Bhavani’s father and begins to unravel the truth. The discovery starts to clear Balagangadharan’s name and shifts blame away from SP’s father.

While in hospital, SP’s mother dies after fainting. In her dying moments she reveals Balagangadharan may have had a different wife and urges SP to seek forgiveness from the past. SP confronts Bhavani’s house, accusing her father of destroying his family, but Bhavani refuses to believe him and stands by her father.

Overcome with anger, SP storms Bhavani’s house to explain the truth. Bhavani remains unconvinced and defends her father. In despair, SP proclaims he no longer loves her and vows to remain a bachelor and never trust a woman.

The story shifts to the present, where SP, now a wealthy entrepreneur, engages in a legal battle with Bhavani to recover his home. SP wins the case, but Bhavani swears to destroy him in retaliation. The courtroom victory marks the beginning of a new antagonistic phase.

SP lives for his half-sister Sandhya, unaware that he is her brother. He is supported by a bachelor aide, Kuruvilla, and Bhama arrives to stay near Sandhya, initially dismissed as a nuisance. The stage is set for a comedy of errors and romantic entanglements.

SP agrees to sponsor Sreekumar, Parameshwaran Pillai’s son, who is a flirt and soon tries to woo Sandhya. Sreekumar stays with SP and his friend Ugran, triggering comic clashes with Kuruvilla. The budding attraction between Sandhya and Sreekumar further complicates SP’s plans.

Bhama discovers SP has been sponsoring Sandhya’s studies, prompting a confrontation about family ties. At Sandhya’s birthday party, Bhavani arrives and takes Bhama away, revealing Bhama is Bhavani’s sister. Rivalry between Bhama and Bhavani escalates, though Bhama later promises to help SP.

SP asks Sandhya to move into his house, while Sreekumar and Ugran relocate to the guest house. Sandhya begins to feel affection for Sreekumar, and SP confesses that he orchestrated their proximity. He transfers everything to Sandhya’s name to protect her status, revealing his protective, brotherly motive.

SP explains his past to the Pillai family; Sandhya overhears and runs home crying. He tells her that his life has been an apology for his mother’s curses. Sandhya reveals that her mother loved SP and urged forgiveness when she saw him.

SP and Sandhya reconcile as siblings and prepare to arrange Sandhya’s marriage to Sreekumar. Their plans are threatened when Bhavani and Hareendhran arrive to disrupt the festivities. The looming family feud strains everyone as wedding plans advance.

Shekarankutty, Sandhya’s elder brother, arrives claiming greater rights over Sandhya and SP’s property and is used by Bhavani’s clan to derail SP’s plans. The feud intensifies as Bhavani’s family attempts to seize SP’s company and home. SP doubles down on protecting Sandhya, vowing to secure her happiness.

In a climactic confrontation, SP reveals Kuruvilla is the witness to Vishnu’s murder, and Bhavani’s father finally confesses. SP pours kerosene on Bhavani’s father as Hareendran intervenes to spare the man’s life. Bhavani realizes her mistakes and goes to SP’s house to apologize, offering her sister Bhama in marriage to SP. SP accepts the proposal but, as Sreekumar reminds him, agrees that Sreekumar will remain a bachelor if SP marries Bhama.
