C.A.T. Squad

After several NATO scientists are murdered, the Counter Assault Tactical (C.A.T.) Squad is formed to shield the remaining researchers and hunt down the unknown threat. The team is led by Richard Doc Burkholder with Bud Raines as second in command, explosives expert Roadmaster Sommers, forensics expert Nikki Blake, and new recruit Leon Trepper. The assignment sets the tone for a cross-border operation with high stakes.

A rocket launcher is stolen from a NATO base in Nuremberg, Germany. The squad interrogates a soldier who says he did it for a supposed Nicaraguan freedom fighter and provides the girlfriend's address in Paris. An agent is later attacked by a hitman while relaying the information to the CAT Squad.

In Paris, investigators uncover materials for counterfeiting passports and the suspect's photo in an apartment. A hitman attacks the agent as he transmits the findings to the CAT Squad, underscoring the danger of the operation. The scope of the conspiracy becomes clearer and intensifies the pursuit.

The remains of a burnt postcard lead Nikki Blake to decipher an invisible ink message reading Spivek. The team identifies Spivek as the project head and moves to place him under protection at a safe house. The protective measure marks a new phase of the operation.

An unauthorized gas truck passes the house protecting Spivek, triggering a gas leak scare. The family is evacuated to safety while Trepper is demoted from house watchman to limo driver for failing to report the truck. The episode heightens the urgency of Spivek's protection.

The hitman kills the motorcycle escort assigned to Spivek and plants a bomb on the escort car. Trepper, driving, senses danger and orders Roadmaster to pull passengers to safety; the car explodes and Trepper is revealed to have been in a decoy vehicle. Spivek survives in another car with Doc, Bud, and Nikki.

The CAT Squad pieces together clues and identifies Sir Cyril Sharpe, curator of the British Museum of World Art, and Jorge Vialobos, also known as Carlos. The discovery links the operation to high-level figures and sets the stage for the pursuit.

They connect Jorge to Dieter Porzig, a German bush pilot operating near the Mexico border, implying an international network that spans continents. The realization shifts the focus toward cross-border operations and the looming confrontation.

To draw the hitman out of hiding, the CAT Squad sends a postcard crafted in the same style as the earlier clue. The hitman gathers his men for a private plane escape, and the CAT Squad trails them to a tense aerial pursuit.

The CAT Squad corners the gang outside the plane; Doc boards and shoots Jorge Vialobos in a final showdown. The operation achieves a decisive takedown of the key terrorist figure and disrupts the network.

After the operation, Doc Burkholder files a brief report to the Director detailing the threats neutralized and the status of Spivek and the rest of the team. The document formalizes the mission and its outcome.

In the epilogue, the figure known as Carlos is shown stepping off a bus in Mexico, suggesting the network's persistence and that he remains at large. The ending hints that the pursuit may continue beyond the film's conclusion.
