The E5 Series Shinkansen, Hayabusa 60, departs from Shin-Aomori heading towards Tokyo. Under first-line manager Kazuya Takaichi, the train is set for a routine journey, but events soon take a dramatic turn.

Shortly after departure, an anonymous caller contacts JR East headquarters, claiming to have planted a bomb on Hayabusa 60. The caller assures JR East that the bomb will detonate if the train slows down below 100 km/h.

To prove the seriousness of the threat, the bomber remotely destroys freight train 2074 at Aomori-Higashi. This alarming incident prompts JR East to stop all trains on the Tōhoku Shinkansen to prioritize Hayabusa 60.

The bomber calls again, this time demanding ¥100 billion from all citizens of Japan in exchange for sparing the lives aboard Hayabusa 60. The situation escalates as Takaichi announces the bomb emergency to the passengers without revealing the details.

As police inspector Kawagoe discusses the bomb situation publicly, chaos ensues onboard Hayabusa 60 when the bomber hacks networks to stream a video showing the bomb being planted. This revelation causes panic among the passengers.

Due to a southbound train stalling from a bird strike, Hayabusa 60 is rerouted onto the northbound track. However, a collision occurs when Hayabusa 60 hits the rear car of another train, worsening the situation.

Millionaire influencer Mitsuru Todoroki begins streaming himself, creating an online platform for passengers to raise the ransom money. The passengers become involved and share the link to help collect funds for the bomber's demands.

Upon realizing the dire situation, the Hayabusa 60 crew devises a rescue plan involving a supply train to evacuate passengers. They manage to uncouple the two rear cars, which subsequently explode.

As the situation escalates, assistant manager Fujii suffers critical injuries from the explosion, leading the crew to act quickly. With JR East ordered to halt operations, Takaichi faces immense pressure to resolve the crisis.

Investigation reveals that Yuzuki Onodera is behind the bomb threat, motivated by personal trauma related to her abusive father. This shocking twist adds urgency to the rescue efforts as the police race to save the passengers.

JR East crafts a risky plan to detach the last two carriages to ensure the first six can safely detonate away from the remaining passengers. The crew and passengers brace as Hayabusa 60 approaches the uncoupling point.

Hayabusa 60 successfully uncouples cars 7 and 8 just before the first six explode. The explosion results in car 7 derailing and being destroyed by car 8, which comes to a halt against a water-filled barrier.

Rescue workers rush into car 8 to retrieve passengers and crew who survive the detonation. The operation unfolds amidst the tension of the situation, knowing that lives hang in the balance.

After the dust settles, the rescued passengers express their gratitude to Takaichi, bowing in respect for his leadership and decisions that saved many lives. Meanwhile, the authorities apprehend the bomber.
