Vishal, an ambitious assistant director, lands a shot to direct his debut film. The project is a lean, low-budget affair with a crew largely new to the industry, and luring big stars seems impossible at first. Yet he manages to reach the famous actress Shalini and sends her a short film version of his script. Impressed by the premise, she agrees to hear his pitch, and the two meet in a restaurant where Vishal begins to lay out the story in detail.
Meanwhile, college principal Radha Krishna has his only daughter Mitra admitted to his college. Mitra isn’t drawn to academics; she loves classical dance and dreams of competing at a national level. Her parents are divorced, she spent time with her mother, and after her mother’s passing she has lived under her father’s strict rule. In this environment, she becomes drawn to the rowdy trio known as the R3 batch — Rahul, Rambabu “Rambo,” and Rocky — who have spent years at the back of the class and enjoy wilder mischief more than studies.
To keep Mitra on track, Radha Krishna enrolls her in a tuition class run by a friend. When Mitra reports the teacher’s inappropriate conduct, her father dismisses it as a poor excuse to skip class, which pushes Mitra closer to Rahul and the rest of the R3 gang. She devises a bold plan with them: pretend to kidnap her for a ransom so she can secure the money to chase her dancing dreams. The plan works, and they manage to extract ₹8 lakh from Mitra’s father, while the gang also vents their anger on the tuition teacher, though they unintentionally injure an innocent bystander in the process.
Radha Krishna reaches out to his cop friend Srinu, who is convinced the R3 gang is not guilty despite his partner’s hesitations. Mitra, eager for her moment on stage, invites the R3 crew to her performance. But the night she heads to the dance studio, she forgets her phone, and real thugs kidnap her for real, contacting the R3 gang as Mitra’s only point of contact. The R3 crew finds themselves pulled into a far more dangerous rescue operation, and they scramble to come up with more money to save Mitra.
As Vishal finishes narrating the plot to Shalini, a crisis hits at home: his mother informs him that his father is badly injured in the mishap caused by the R3 crew, and the operation requires ₹10 lakh. Shalini steps in again, arranging funds from the bank and rushing to the hospital, while Rocky happens to be at the same bank looking for a big withdrawal and sees a chance to steal. The R3 gang hurls a stone at Shalini’s car during the drive, causing a collision, and they seize the money in the aftermath. In the confusion, Rahul drops his phone, which contains the thug’s contact information, at the crash site. The thugs panic because they have no way to reach the gang, and Mitra’s fate hangs in the balance.
Vishal and Shalini are taken to a local hospital, and Vishal wrestles with asking for more money to cover his father’s surgery. The thugs decide to move Mitra and start contacting potential buyers again, while Rahul and Vishal race to recover the stolen money and to track down the mentally-challenged man who picked up the phone after the crash. A tense sequence unfolds as the R3 crew and the thugs cross paths with Mitra’s circle, culminating in a public chase that brings the police into the fray and ultimately leads to Mitra’s rescue.
Back at the hospital, Vishal’s mother confirms that his father’s operation was completed successfully. Grateful for the help, Shalini arranges funds once more and reassures Vishal that the film will proceed, even as she delivers an unexpected parcel containing the ₹10 lakh that had been stolen and an apology note. Srinu helps Radha Krishna confront his parenting shortcomings, and the police station scene shifts Mitra’s perspective as she calls Rahul to pick her up. Rahul refuses, insisting she call her father, who arrives to support his daughter and—after a sharp confrontation with the tuition teacher—decides to enroll Mitra in a classical dance academy. The film within the story begins again with Shalini, and the closing moments find the R3 gang reflecting on their limited ambitions and the paths they’ve chosen, leaving their future uncertain but their immediate chaos behind.
