Bombay Velvet

In 1969 Bombay, Balraj, a street fighter, is deeply in love with Rosie, a jazz singer. His affection inspires him to aspire for wealth and success, believing that these will win her heart.

Balraj catches the eye of Kaizad Khambatta, a powerful businessman who sees potential in him. He offers Balraj a chance to manage his club, Bombay Velvet, marking the beginning of Balraj's descent into the world of crime.

As a symbol of his new identity, Kaizad nicknames Balraj 'Johnny'. This name becomes associated with his new life in the underworld, as he gets drawn deeper into illicit operations.

Johnny undertakes his first dubious task for Khambatta, which involves capturing blackmail material on a corrupt minister. This risky endeavor thrusts him further into the treacherous world of crime.

Media reporter Jimmy Mistri takes an interest in Johnny's life, specifically his feelings for Rosie. He sets into motion a plan to send Rosie into Johnny's world to retrieve valuable information, not realizing that a bond will develop between them.

As Rosie enters Johnny's life under Mistri's manipulation, genuine feelings begin to grow between them. This new romance complicates both their lives, leading to unintended consequences.
