At the end of Blue Beetle, Jaime Reyes has gone through a harrowing journey that transforms him from a regular young man into a hero bearing the powerful alien scarab. After being chosen by Khaji-Da, an alien AI that attaches to his spine, Jaime struggles to control its immense power while trying to protect his family from the dangerous New Tech conglomerate led by Victoria Kord. Victoria attempts to steal the secret code from the Scarab to advance her weaponized OMAC tech, risking catastrophic destruction. When she finally succeeds in copying the code through a brutal operation, Jaime’s life is put in grave danger, and he is forced to fight against the corrupted Lieutenant Carapax, who has been turned into a formidable cyborg by Victoria’s tech.

In a pivotal moment, Jaime and Khaji-Da realize that Carapax is not merely a villain but a victim as well. Carapax’s tragic backstory reveals that he was an innocent child whose family was wiped out by Victoria’s manipulations. Once he learns the truth, Carapax helps Jaime escape and chooses to die in a blaze with Victoria, ensuring her demise. With Victoria gone, Jenny Kord takes control of the company and vows to abandon her father’s destructive pursuits, promising to lead Kord Industries toward peace instead.
