Katie and Billy, high school sweethearts from Minden, Oklahoma, are engaged. On Valentine's Day, Katie's grandfather gifts her a bus ticket to surprise Billy, but she discovers he is in bed with another woman. The betrayal immediately ends their engagement and pushes Katie toward an independent path.

At the real investors' meeting, Katie presents her own project and wins their support. The real investors' enthusiasm undermines Debra's schemes, leading to Debra's firing and Katie's credibility rising again.

Richard is reinstated as CEO, and Katie's standing within the company is restored. She shares a kiss with Ben, hinting at a future partnership both professionally and personally.
