Wheezer overhears his parents talking about divorce and becomes terrified of losing his father. After learning from his friend Donald what divorce actually means, he fears his family will break up. Desperate to keep his parents together, he believes that if he becomes gravely ill, his parents will stop fighting and reconcile for his sake.
