Architect Larry Andrews and Barbara arrive on a Philippine island and learn their condo won’t be ready. Del arranges a hotel stay while delaying the move, hinting at complications to come. Barbara grows uneasy as Del’s involvement in their housing takes a strange turn.

Del reveals there is no condo and that they will instead live in the historic mansion Casa Fortuna. He explains Alma Martín, the former mistress of the house, haunts the place and that she and her husband Esteban killed each other. Barbara and Larry sense trouble as the mansion's legend is introduced.

Barbara is awakened by chanting and visions of Alma. She experiences unsettling dreams and feels a pressing presence in the house. In one moment she involuntarily stabs her own hand, later insisting it was an accident.

Barbara is hospitalized and Dr. Albanos runs medical tests to determine the cause of her symptoms. Larry watches as Barbara's condition seems to worsen under the influence of Alma. The mounting mix of medical concern and supernatural hints sets the stage for the haunting.

Larry meets Leia Solomon and her father, Dr. Solomon, who claim to sense danger around Barbara. They urge Larry to heal Barbara and to remove her from the house. The neighbors' warnings deepen the sense that Alma is targeting Barbara.

Strange events escalate when the records of Dr. Albanos’s tests disappear. Larry grows suspicious that someone is concealing information about Barbara’s condition. Dr. Solomon warns that Alma is attempting to infect Barbara and seize her body.

Dr. Solomon explains that Alma is vying for Barbara’s body and that Barbara is in danger of spirit possession. He frames the haunting as a direct attack on Barbara’s life force. Larry resolves to protect Barbara by all means.

Larry proposes that they move away from the mansion to escape Alma’s influence. Barbara resists, clinging to their life together and to the hope of healing. The couple’s disagreement marks a turning point as the haunting tightens its grip.

Del visits the house and attempts to initiate sex with Barbara, who rejects him. Barbara leads him upstairs and pushes him off a balcony to his death. Larry discovers Barbara’s increasingly blank stare as the drama escalates.

Barbara’s finger swells into a deep red, signaling Alma’s growing influence. Larry notices the strange skin anomaly and seeks help from Dr. Solomon. Barbara’s trust in medical authorities erodes as Alma’s infection deepens.

Leia attempts to cleanse the house but encounters Alma’s spirit, which electrocutes her and turns her to dust. The community realizes the danger is real and that the house’s rituals have not defeated the haunting. The atmosphere grows darker as more victims fall.

Barbara enters Dr. Solomon’s space and witnesses a healer performing surgery on a woman, healing a gaping wound. She is appalled by the raw procedures and the mystery surrounding the doctor’s methods. The unsettling healing rites deepen the sense that Alma’s power is tied to forbidden practices.

A villager discovers Del’s body on the hillside near the mansion, confirming his death. Larry shifts focus toward saving Barbara as the danger peaks. The death intensifies the sense that Alma’s influence reaches beyond the mansion’s walls.

Larry and Dr. Solomon attempt an exorcism to separate Alma from Barbara’s body. Barbara fights the possession, losing consciousness during the rite. Alma materializes and threatens to fully take over before the exorcism disrupts her hold.

Dr. Solomon separates Alma’s spirit from Barbara, causing Alma to deteriorate rapidly. Larry and Barbara escape the mansion and leave Casa Fortuna for good. The couple’s departure marks the end of the haunting and the start of a new life away from the house.
