In the city zoo, Hippety Hopper the mischievous kangaroo escapes his cage and hides in a nearby trash can. His carefree mischief sets the stage for the rival chase that will involve Sylvester. The zoo becomes the backdrop for the ensuing chaos.

The Grand High Exalted Poobah rummages through the trash for a meal and jokes that he would eat the largest mouse possible. His remark foreshadows the coming chaos as he spots Hippety nearby. He is about to confront the intruder.

The Poobah's encounter with Hippety escalates into slapstick chaos when the kangaroo attacks him. Spurred by the incident, he calls a special meeting of the Order to discuss the matter and safeguard the club's reputation.
