Claude Hopper, a self‑confident kangaroo who proudly calls himself the “best darn hopper in the world,” is challenged by two clever Scottish rabbits. They stage a mock boxing match that leaves Claude tangled in the ropes, then coax him into a long‑distance jump. The rabbits hitch a ride on his tail and leap over him as he lands. On a second attempt they gum his tail and strip the extra weight from his pouch, causing Claude to tumble into a river, where the rabbits emerge safely in his water‑filled pouch.
