Being Different

An intimate portrait of modern‑day “Elephant Man” figures and other human oddities, honoring their spirit and humanity, follows towering men and women, a bearded woman with her longtime husband, conjoined twins, and little‑people including Billy Barty, who winter in Gibsonton, Florida, sharing their lives. The film also visits a uniquely‑faced grandfather, a leg‑less mechanic on a second honeymoon in Los Angeles, a foot‑less marathon runner and speaker, a karate student with partial limbs, and an armless mother in Texas.
