A British colonel, furious with his superiors after his entire platoon is ruthlessly cut down by the Germans in what he deems a suicide mission, is assigned a new task. He assembles a unit of convicted criminals as part of his plan to sabotage and ready the Normandy beaches for the D‑Day invasion.
