Aarav travels to the United States to pursue his dream of designing cars and begins a new life abroad. In this new environment he meets Anna, who instantly falls for him, while he remains focused on his career. As their connection grows, his talents catch the eye of a prominent auto company chairman who offers him a designer position.

The chairman, who is Anna's grandfather, discovers Aarav and Anna's relationship. He publicly announces their betrothal, signaling the joining of the two families. The news strengthens their romance but foreshadows deeper family involvement in their future.

Aarav tells his family he is returning to India to tend to his sick father, but his real aim is to divorce Kajal, whom he married on the wedding night years ago. The marriage was arranged by his parents and never consummated, and he has been living in the United States since. He travels back with the plan to end the relationship for good.

Kajal makes efforts to win Aarav back, but he tells her he is in love with another woman and does not love Kajal. Despite her doubts, she yields and signs the divorce papers. Aarav then submits them to his lawyer, setting the stage for a potential final separation.

Feeling guilty, Aarav starts spending time with Kajal and even offers financial help. He discovers she has built a thriving export company for locally made saris and has become fluent in English. The day is filled with memories from their childhood, and Aarav finds himself drawn to her again.

Anna travels to India, and Aarav tells her about Kajal. Kajal meets Anna, and Anna privately forgives Aarav for the past. The two women form a growing rapport, while Anna notes Kajal's independence.

Anna privately asks Kajal if she fears Anna has stolen Aarav away. Kajal explains that Aarav never truly loved her and that the marriage was an arrangement between families. Anna is impressed by Kajal's independence, and the two form a tentative friendship.

Kajal decides to attend the wedding in order to give her love a proper funeral. She asks Anna to wear her old wedding jewellery and helps her get dressed, showing the complexity of her feelings.

During the ceremony, Kajal cannot bear to witness Aarav marry someone else and flees the wedding premises. At the same time, Aarav's lawyer interrupts, informing him that the divorce papers were not signed and the divorce isn't final.

Aarav wrestles with the decision to sign the papers to finalize the divorce but realises he still loves Kajal. As this inner struggle unfolds, rain starts to fall, adding a symbolic turn to the moment. Anna suggests that the storm is a sign and urges him to reconsider his priorities and go back to Kajal.

Anna confronts her grandfather, who threatens to ruin Aarav's career. She argues that Aarav is destined to be with Kajal and refuses to use her influence to stop their union, acknowledging that Aarav loves Kajal a little more. Her stand reshapes the wedding's fate.

Aarav finds Kajal at their childhood playplace and tells her that he has loved her all along. They share a kiss and decide to be together again, choosing love over social expectations. Anna watches, happy, and leaves to return to the United States.
