Koteswara Rao is Habibi's real father. He had deceived Parvati and abandoned her, resulting in Habibi's birth. When Koteswara Rao tries to use Habibi as a shield during his escape, Bachi confronts him and reveals the truth that Rao is Habibi's biological father, not Bachi.

Earlier, Bachi learns that another Bachi (a tomcat) had lived in his house, but tracing this person's whereabouts reveals he has no real claim on Habibi, shifting suspicion toward the unknown father.

When Habibi arrives claiming Bachi is his father, Bachi reacts with anger and instinctively wants to discard the child. However, his attempt to abandon Habibi fails, he cannot bring himself to actually leave the boy, which marks the beginning of their emotional bond.
