Babli Bouncer

Babli Tanwar is an uneducated young woman from Asola-Fatehpur, a small village near Delhi, where most people are bouncers. Despite being of marriageable age, she hasn’t completed her 10th-grade education, and her teacher, nicknamed “Drum,” tends to look down on her. Babli has also trained to be a bouncer since childhood, a path she follows with quiet determination.

At the wedding of the sarpanch’s daughter, Babli crosses paths with Drum’s son, Viraj Kaushik, who has just returned from five years of study in London. A crush grows as Babli tries to get closer to him, and she secretly plans a trip to Delhi to see him. Meanwhile, marriage proposals begin to pour in for Babli, but she rejects them all because her heart is set on Viraj.

Babli’s childhood friend Kukku, who has long admired her, is jolted by the news of her prospects. He and his family present a marriage proposal too, which Babli’s family considers, but she sees Kukku only as a friend. When she learns Kukku works as a bouncer at a Delhi nightclub, she hatches a plan to use him to reach the city. She pretends to share his feelings and asks him to help her land a job in Delhi, suggesting they could discuss marriage after a year. Kukku’s nightclub is looking for a female bouncer, and he puts in a good word for her, earning her a chance to go to Delhi.

In the city, Babli meets Viraj multiple times. At his birthday party, she drunkenly confesses her feelings, and Viraj dismisses her as uneducated and uncivil. The rejection wounds Babli, but instead of surrendering to heartbreak, she decides to transform herself for her own sake, not just to win him back.

She enrolls in a class to continue her education, picks up English, and steadily gains confidence and skill. As Viraj and his friends visit Babli’s club, he clashes with a playboy son of a powerful politician. The danger escalates when the playboy pulls a gun on Viraj, but Babli steps in with courage and quick thinking, diffusing the threat. Viraj is impressed but his earlier dismissal lingers, and he begins to pursue her again, only to find her resolute and not easily won.

Another night at the club, a gang abducts a female patron with the intent to assault her. Babli acts without hesitation, fighting off the attackers on the road and saving the victim. The dramatic rescue captures media attention, and Babli’s bravery makes headlines. The Chief Minister of her state honors her with a medal of bravery.

With support from a wealthy patron she had previously saved, Babli launches a training center to empower other women to become bouncers, passing on the skills and courage that defined her own journey. The new venture marks a transition from a desperate pursuit of love to a purpose-driven path, turning Babli into a symbol of resilience and self-reliance for women in her community.
