Rizwan Ahmed, a small-town stock trader from Allahabad, travels to Mumbai to chase his dream of success in the big city. He is driven by the ambition to work with Shakun Kothari, a wealthy and feared figure in the Gujarati stock market. The move marks the start of his ascent in the Mumbai trading world.

In Mumbai, Rizwan bluffingly lands a role at the city's largest trading firm and quickly proves his aptitude. He ropes in a high-profile client and, with his coworker and girlfriend Priya Rai, begins a rising career. His audacity earns him a foothold in the inner circle.

During an industry event with Priya, Rizwan offers stock advice that proves timely, catching Shakun Kothari's attention. Impressed by his instinct, Kothari hires him as his broker, warning that he may never lose any money.

Rizwan's first trade using Kothari's funds ends badly, threatening the firm's confidence in him. Desperate to salvage the relationship, he illegally uses insider information from Priya to recoup the losses. This reckless move foreshadows the dangerous path he will follow.

Rizwan becomes close to Shakun Kothari and his wife Mandira, visiting their mansion and enjoying a yacht trip with Priya. The access pulls him deeper into Kothari's circle and his schemes, blurring lines between mentor and manipulator. He sees the power up close and becomes increasingly determined.

Kothari reveals that a government bid for a telecom project will be influenced through bribery, and that Skycom is the chosen vehicle. He hands Rizwan money to buy Skycom and become its owner, setting up a high-stakes venture built on corruption. This marks a turning point in Rizwan's trajectory.

Rizwan puts Skycom under his control and convinces his brother-in-law Anwar to invest all his savings. The bid is rejected, breaking their plan, and Kothari unloads Skycom shares just before the announcement. Rizwan is ruined financially as the scheme collapses.

Rizwan realizes Kothari deliberately set him up to take the fall for Skycom to profit himself. He understands he has been maneuvered as a pawn in a larger game. This epiphany strengthens his resolve to fight back.

SEBI agents, led by Rana Dasgupta, detain Rizwan for insider trading, though their real target is Kothari. Rizwan convinces them that Shakun has been using old school methods that leave no trace, buying time. He begins to piece together a larger case against Kothari.

Using information from Mandira, Rizwan proves that Kothari bribed government ministers with diamonds smuggled on the Surat-Mumbai Karnavati Express. This revelation tilts the investigation toward Kothari. Rizwan's strategic use of Mandira's testimony marks a turning point in the case.

Shakun Kothari is arrested and his wife and kids leave him. The arrest signals the collapse of his empire and his fall from power. The once feared figure begins to face consequences for his actions.

After a series of court hearings, Priya testifies to the bribes. Rizwan confronts her in court, asking why she surrendered her silence. She tells him she deserves what comes and walks away.

Shakun comes out on bail after a month to find his home empty and his family gone. He calls his secretary and declares that the market is open again, signaling his return to his old methods. The closing moment hints at the ongoing cycle of ambition in Baazaar.
