Avatar

Jake Sully is transported to Pandora via a cryo-chamber and disembarks wearing an oxygen mask, as humans cannot breathe Pandora's atmosphere. He meets Dr. Grace Augustine and Norm Spellman, and begins his new role controlling an Avatar for the Na'vi recon mission. He immediately disobeys orders by exploring freely, joyful at regaining the use of his legs.

Jake wanders into the forest, encounters Na’vi Neytiri, and a series of dangerous creatures, including a dinosaur-like beast and attacking panther-like creatures. Neytiri intervenes, saving him by killing the attacking creatures with her bow and arrow, and warns him about Pandora's dangerous wildlife.

After surviving the attack, Neytiri takes Jake to a group of Na’vi who intend to kill him because he is a human in an Avatar body. Neytiri intervenes, claiming Jake was chosen by their deity Eywa. The Na’vi leaders decide to let Jake stay and be taught their ways.

Jake starts learning the Na'vi language, riding horses, and making a bond through the braid-rein connection, gradually becoming integrated into the clan. Neytiri teaches him to hunt and nurture his relationship with Pandora's creatures and their sacred Banshee.

Jake chooses and tames his own Banshee after a tense challenge at the sky structure. He makes his first flight with the creature, symbolizing his acceptance into the Na'vi and his commitment to flying, which he claims suits him better than horses.

Jake and Neytiri grow closer, sharing a romantic connection during a sacred site visit where they also bond spiritually with Eywa. Their union is sealed as Neytiri recognizes him as her mate, signified by makeup and the phrase ‘I see you,’ indicating deep soul recognition.

Humans, led by Colonel Quaritch, begin destructive mining activities to obtain Unobtainium, destroying the sacred Valley of Eywa. Neytiri is devastated, and Jake, in human form, clashes with the destruction of Pandora’s sacred sites and the violence against Na'vi.

While attempting to warn the Na’vi and negotiate peace, Jake's true allegiance is revealed when he switches to aid the Na’vi in resisting the humans, even breaking into the human base in his Avatar. He refuses to follow orders that would harm Pandora, earning Quaritch's suspicion.

Grace is critically injured during the conflict and her consciousness is transferred into her Avatar to survive, but her injuries are too severe, and she dies. Jake mourns her, and the Na'vi unite to prepare for the impending human attack, rallying all Pandora's clans for war.

The Na'vi, aided by Pandora’s creatures, fiercely defend their sacred home against the humans’ aerial and ground assault. Key characters, including Neytiri and Jake, battle Quaritch. Eywa’s creatures turn against the humans, helping turn the tide in favor of the Na'vi.

Jake fights Quaritch man-to-man in a grotesque battle within a giant human mech shell. Neytiri intervenes, shooting Quaritch through the chest to save Jake, who is left unconscious from injuries sustained in the fight. Neytiri cradles him as he is saved from suffocation.

Jake’s human consciousness is permanently integrated into his Avatar after the ritual at the Tree of Souls, symbolizing his full acceptance as a Na'vi. He awakens with Neytiri at his side, and they share an intimate recognition that signifies their soul connection.

The humans are driven away from Pandora, and Jake, now fully Na'vi, lives happily with Neytiri. The movie ends with the Na'vi united, gazing peacefully at their world, as Jake looks into Neytiri’s eyes, affirming their bond and a new era of harmony.
